watermelon + corn

{June 5}
It takes about 10 seconds before Mae is done eating her baby food dinner,
and the rest of the time she's whining for a taste of our food....
so we humored her the other night and let her go to town on her very own watermelon rind.
Let's just say she was more than pleased.

After having the success we did with the watermelon,
we gave her a run with some corn on the cob.
It was a little hard for her to keep in her hands but at least she was occupied.
(these pictures were taken with the phone -- heaven forbid I get the big camera out again after the watermelon)

Play 'n eat

{June 5}
Summer is so nice because we usually end up eating dinner on the back porch,
thus the girls request if they can "play 'n eat"
This request is a double edge sword -- good because it gives Chris and I a little more peace and quiet as we enjoy our dinner -- bad because they rarely sit for more than 10 seconds to eat.
But what else is new?  These two will only eat on their own time.
We end up threatening them to come take a bite or they have to go back inside....
hehe, works every time.

It also requires a lot of "mom, dad, will you push us please?"
We get what we can take.

Gardening 101

 {June 7}
We spent the day buying flowers for our yard and Miss Ivy is a natural.
Not only did she have an opinion on what flowers to buy,
she helped me in every step of the way....
even at times telling me what to do.
She was so proud of the outcome....
as was I.
I love having flowers in the back.
Hoping they all do well so we can add more next year.

Day off in Provo

{June 10}
Grammy Terry came up for a few days so we decided to head to Provo and spend the day with her.
Chris even took off work for the fun!
We started the day off at UVU to watch Quincy play basketball.
The second we walked into the gym and we spotted Terry, Karen, Ash, and Emmy
we all about died laughing at how me and Ashlee were dressed.
Exactly the same.
Head to toe....hair, necklace, shirt, pants, shoes.
It was pretty funny.
After the game we headed to the new Provo recreation center to swim.
We had such a good time.
The girls looooved the pool.
(I didn't get a single picture of Ivy because she was having too much fun)

After swimming we went back to Nick and Ashlee's for dinner
and Olive got an early birthday present from Grammy.
A new princess dress, tiara, and jewelry all in her favorite color blue.
Grammy didn't even know she had requested a "blue party"
I'm convinced she would be satisfied with just this one gift.
I mean, look at that smile!

Backyard

{June 12}
Our backyard seriously is awesome this time of year.
The big tree gives us so much shade that we really could spend our entire day out there.
Right now the girls are obsessed with the little green swing we bought last year,
it requires a little more balance then the regular swing and they think its so funny
to get pushed and have that adrenaline rush.
We love lazy summer days.

Mae's first popsicle

{June 4}
I couldn't handle seeing the look on Mae's face time after time I gave the big girls a popsicle,
so we brought her high chair on the front porch and let her go to town on one.
Boy did she love it....
and surprisingly it wasn't as messy as I imagined.
Still probably wouldn't give her one every time the girls get one....
because lets face it,
they get one way too often.
